Selected by YCAT in 2008, Alexandra was a Laureate at the Verbier Festival Academy where she won the CUBS Bank Verbier Festival & Academy Prize. She went on to win the Guildhall School of Music & Drama Wigmore Hall Prize and the Romanian Ambassador’s prize for her outstanding contribution to promoting Romania’s image in the UK.
As a soloist Alexandra has appeared with many of the UK's leading ensembles and has given recitals at major festivals and venues throughout the UK including Wigmore Hall, Barbican, Leeds International Series, Jacqueline du Pré Music Building, the Bath, Ryedale, Chester, Leicester, Ribble Valley and Exeter Festivals.
Alexandra has been working with Imogen Cooper for several months, working on a range of repertoire including Beethoven's Emperor Concerto, Schumann's 'Abegg' Variations and Chopin's Preludes.
'Personally and artistically, being part of the Philip Langridge Mentoring Scheme is a real privilege. Spending time with Imogen is inspirational, creative and challenging. We talk for hours about anything and everything, go to concerts and galleries and work on repertoire. It is such an incredible support at a critical time and something I will always treasure.'
