Kathryn Rudge to re-join Opera North for a new production of Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Liverpool-born mezzo-soprano and PLMS artist Kathryn Rudge is no stranger to the stage.
In Autumn 2012 she sang Cherubino in the Michael Grandage production of The Marriage of Figaro with the Glyndebourne Touring Opera. Opera Magazine described her performance as follows:
"Cherubino’s hedonism was ferociously captured by Kathryn Rudge, who temporarily stole the show with her two arias."
Opera Magazine, December 2012
Then in December she joined Opera North to take the role of Annio in La Clemenza di Tito, directed by John Fulljames.
And it has now been confirmed that in autumn 2013 Kathryn will re-join Opera North to take the role of Hermia Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The production will be directed by Martin Duncan and conducted by Stuart Stratford.
